TOUR DESCRIPTION:

DAY 1:

M’Hamid to Sidi Naji – Begin Your Sahara Adventure

Our incredible desert adventure starts at 09:00 AM, as we load our gear onto the camels and embark on a journey through Morocco’s vast and awe-inspiring Sahara Desert. We’ll head toward the mesmerizing dunes of Erg Zahar. After approximately 3 hours of camel riding, we’ll stop for a refreshing lunch beneath the shade of a Tamarisk tree at Race Nkhel, a charming desert oasis. In the afternoon, we’ll set up camp in this serene oasis for our first night under the desert sky, immersing ourselves in the peace of the Sahara.

DAY 2:

Sidi Naji to Erg Zahar – Exploring the Heart of the Desert

After a hearty breakfast, we’ll break camp and load everything back onto the camels. The caravan will head deeper into the desert, exploring new, spectacular landscapes over the next 3 hours. We’ll pause for a leisurely lunch under the shade of a desert tree, taking in the peaceful atmosphere of the dunes. After lunch, we’ll continue our exploration of the Sahara’s unique beauty. After another 2 hours of trekking, we’ll arrive at the majestic dunes of Sidi Naji, where we’ll set up camp for the night. Dinner will be served, followed by an evening under the stars. Our camel guide will teach us the traditional desert craft of making bread in the sand.

DAY 3:

Erg Zahar to Erg Sedra – Immersing in Nomadic Life

Following a stunning desert sunrise, we’ll enjoy breakfast and begin our trek along the caravan trail. The rhythmic sound of camel bells and the soothing desert music will accompany us as we continue our journey. As always, we’ll pause for lunch in the shade of a desert tree, enjoying a break before moving on. After a short nap, we’ll continue with another 2 hours of camel riding and trekking through the dunes. We’ll set up camp for the night amid the majestic dunes of Erg Sedra, where we’ll enjoy a traditional nomadic-style dinner, followed by entertainment around the campfire. The serenity of the desert night is the perfect backdrop for a memorable evening.

DAY 4:

Erg Sedra to Erg Smar – Desert Treasures Await

After a peaceful night under the stars, we’ll enjoy breakfast before departing for Erg Smar. This day’s journey will take us 3 hours by camel and foot, passing through stunning desert landscapes. We’ll take a break for lunch under the shade of a large Tamarisk tree, next to the ruins of an ancient desert village, a perfect spot to take in the history of this timeless landscape. After lunch, we’ll continue our journey to Erg Smar, with another 2.5 hours of trekking ahead. Once we arrive, we’ll set up camp and enjoy a traditional nomadic dinner, complete with local music around the campfire.

DAY 5:

Erg Smar to Erg Chigaga – Conquer the Great Dunes

On Day 5, after an unforgettable sunrise and breakfast in the open air, we’ll continue our trek towards the towering dunes of Erg Chigaga, one of the largest dune systems in Morocco. We’ll take a well-deserved lunch break and sip refreshing tea before continuing toward the towering dunes, which rise up to 300 meters high and stretch over 40 kilometers. We’ll reach the summit just in time for a breathtaking sunset, offering an unparalleled view of the Sahara’s tranquility. Our camp for the night will be set up on the dunes, where we’ll savor a traditional desert meal and enjoy local entertainment around the campfire.

Day 6:

Day 6: Erg Chigaga to M’Hamid and Zagora – Final Desert Experience

On the final morning of our trek, we’ll witness another stunning sunrise and enjoy breakfast before our return journey. After an incredible 6 days of exploring the Sahara, we’ll travel back to M’Hamid and Zagora by 4×4 vehicle, arriving around 11:30 AM. This desert adventure will leave you with unforgettable memories of the vast dunes, the nomadic lifestyle, and the unparalleled beauty of Morocco’s Sahara.
